A year after Maria Sharapova’s Japanese-inspired home went viral on Youtube, the tennis star has officially added furniture designer to her resume. The furniture capsule, launched with Rove Concepts this morning, includes six pieces that lean into the Canadian company’s signature midcentury modern style.

Inspired by her love of art and travel, the neutral-toned line uses natural materials like walnut and hemp to add a California cool to familiar midcentury shapes. The result is a cohesive living room set that can easily mix and match with any existing pieces. “The designs don’t dictate how you use them or what they say about you. They’re versatile enough to allow people to make them their own,” Sharapova said in an interview with Architectural Digest.
Sharapova also designed two exclusive textiles for her capsule, a taupe and an olive green velvet for her centerpiece: a deep-seated sofa ensconced in walnut wood. A matching upholstered bench is equally customizable as a pop of color amongst white concrete tables designed to function as sculptural pieces.
Starting at $349, Maria Sharapova’s new line is also available for discounts under Rove Concepts membership and can be mix-and-matched with any of the brand’s classic offerings like their own spin on the cult-favorite cloud sofa.
Rove Concepts launched in 2011 to offer craftsmanship-centered contemporary furniture. Maria Sharapova is the first athlete to collaborate with the brand after successful collections with interior bloggers and speciality home brands like Laura Melling and Mosaic Home.
