A stunning eco build Airbnb in Devon is attracting celebrities – and it offers the best of both worlds. Moorland View, situated in Wotter, is nestled on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, but offers breathtaking views of Plymouth Sound.
The newly finished property has even attracted two-time world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury – and he said it was “one of the nicest places” he has ever stayed. You can book the property here.
Owner Sarah Mayer, who is an estate agent and runs her own firm, Mayer Estate Agents, says she is “very proud” of the finished product. Sarah purchased the plot of that three years ago – and it once was an “old shack”.
After years of hard work, navigating planning applications and intricate designs, the stunning detached luxury eco house was completed. It is now being rented out on Airbnb.
The 37-year-old said: “We had a brilliant architect in the name of Simon Francis of Lignum Designs. A great groundworks team and myself and friends for the design choice or flair to finish this wonderful home which has now been put on the air bnb and staycation platform. We recently had Tyson Fury to stay.”
At the end of September, after his stay, Tyson Fury said: “Hi Tyson fury here, I’m staying here today at Moorland View in Devon. It’s absolutely fantastic, the place is unbelievable, beautiful, clean, one of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed. Privacy, unbelievable for people who bare privacy. The hosts were unbelievable, everything was. It was a fantastic experience guys. Check it out right now, all the best. Good luck and God bless.”
Sarah said due to the location, she wanted to get everything just right – complying with local restrictions to get the planning application approved. She explained: “It was a long process, but one we wanted to get right to make sure it brought out the natural beauty this area and house in particular has to offer, with Plymouth Sound views but a cosy spot nestled in the moors.
“It’s such a beautiful spot with lambs and wild horses running around, we really wanted to blend with the natural surroundings. This is why it has a grass roof which is now like a lovely purple colour, natural stone as well as wood and stone to compliment the natural area. I’m very proud of the finished product.”
The breathtaking property even has an eight-seater heated jacuzzi to soak up the gorgeous views – as well as a huge kitchen perfect for hosting dinner parties, events and even Christmas dinner!
